Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Days 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and Nights 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule set by manager with every-other-weekend requirement; 12-hour shifts, guaranteed 36 hours/week

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry to detect and respond to cardiac changes promptly
- Safely titrate IV drips and vasoactive medications such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, and diltiazem
- Provide high-quality intermediate and post-CVICU care for thoracic, EP, cath lab, and structural heart patients
- Document patient care thoroughly and accurately using EPIC
- Collaborate with cardiology, hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and recovery plans in a compassionate way
- Respond to emergencies and participate in code and rapid response situations
- Float to same or lower acuity units as needed while maintaining patient safety
Qualifications
- Active RN license valid for practice in the state of Nebraska
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required at time of submission
- Driver's license required at submittal
- Minimum 1 year of experience with cardiac/stepdown patient population; posting indicates 2 years RN experience
- Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and interpret telemetry
- Proficiency with EPIC charting preferred
- Ability to pass facility orientation exam (90% passing requirement per policy)
Education
- Active RN license; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- IV drip titration and vasoactive medication management
- Cardiac assessments and post-operative cardiac care
- Familiarity with EP, cath lab, and thoracic patient needs
- Experience working with tele/monitor techs and respiratory therapy equipment including BiPAP/CPAP
- Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills
- Accurate and timely electronic documentation in EPIC
