Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care for acute patients, using evidence-based therapies and clinical judgment
- Manage ventilators, oxygen therapy, airway management, and respiratory assessments with precision
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to develop and implement patient care plans
- Perform diagnostic testing and monitor patient responses, adjusting therapy as needed
- Document treatments and patient progress accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in shift handoffs and team communication to maintain safe, seamless care
- Respond to emergency situations and assist with advanced resuscitation efforts when called upon
Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and PALS required
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience in acute care
- Ability to submit required license(s) for the state of Utah
- Comfortable charting in EPIC and following hospital protocols
Education
- Education requirement not explicitly stated; CRT via NBRC required (associate degree in respiratory therapy commonly expected)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in mechanical ventilation management and weaning
- Knowledge of respiratory assessment, arterial blood gas interpretation, and oxygen therapy

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary environments
- Able to prioritize and multitask during high-acuity situations
- Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
