Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care for acute patients, using evidence-based therapies and clinical judgment
• Manage ventilators, oxygen therapy, airway management, and respiratory assessments with precision
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to develop and implement patient care plans
• Perform diagnostic testing and monitor patient responses, adjusting therapy as needed
• Document treatments and patient progress accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in shift handoffs and team communication to maintain safe, seamless care
• Respond to emergency situations and assist with advanced resuscitation efforts when called upon

Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and PALS required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience in acute care
• Ability to submit required license(s) for the state of Utah
• Comfortable charting in EPIC and following hospital protocols

Education

• Education requirement not explicitly stated; CRT via NBRC required (associate degree in respiratory therapy commonly expected)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in mechanical ventilation management and weaning
• Knowledge of respiratory assessment, arterial blood gas interpretation, and oxygen therapy
