Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality portable and departmental X-ray exams for inpatients, ED patients, and ambulatory cases
- Position patients safely and accurately to capture diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment (GE, Siemens, Shimadzu) and manage 4 x-ray rooms plus portable units
- Acquire and send images using McKesson PACS and document procedures in Epic
- Maintain radiation safety standards and follow facility policies regarding badges and monitoring
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and the care team to support patient-centered care
- Collaborate with technologists and radiologists on workflow and quality assurance to keep studies moving
Qualifications
- ARRT certification (Certified Radiologic Technologist) required
- Washington DOH imaging license in hand prior to start
- BLS certification required
- COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
- Radiation badge required (facility does not provide; employer/traveler responsibility)
- Minimum ~2 years radiology experience preferred; larger fast-paced hospital or ED experience a plus
- Cannot have been full-time, part-time, or PRN at CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity-affiliated facilities within the past year
Education
- Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology, or equivalent ARRT pathway
- ARRT certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with McKesson PACS and Epic charting systems
- Strong patient positioning and image acquisition techniques
- Experience performing portable X-rays and ED imaging under variable conditions
- Familiarity with GE, Siemens, and Shimadzu imaging equipment
- Good time management and ability to handle 20-50 studies per day on busy shifts
- Solid radiation safety practices and infection control awareness
- Team-oriented communication and the ability to integrate into established radiology workflows
