Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (day) and 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (night), 3 shifts per week; rotating schedule that includes every other weekend (approximately 4 weekend shifts/month) and holiday rotation

Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity respiratory care in an acute setting, running all vents and managing ventilator support
- Assist with bronchoscopies and support procedures as a skilled team member
- Perform and interpret ABGs and titrate therapy accordingly
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilator platforms including Servo I, Jets, Oscillators, BiPAP V60 and CPAP
- Serve as lead on duty each shift when assigned, coordinating respiratory responses and working with the Clinical Response Team
- Chart accurately in Cerner and maintain thorough patient documentation
- Prioritize patient safety and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
- Manage high procedure volumes (35-40 RVUs/day) while maintaining excellent time management and communication
Qualifications
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential via NBRC — required
- Arizona RT license in hand — must have before start
- Minimum 2 years strong ICU respiratory experience (adult-focused); NICU experience preferred for combined roles
- BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU roles
- Demonstrated ability to assist with bronchoscopies and advanced ventilator management
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
Education
- Associate's degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy (or equivalent) — RRT credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and modes (Servo I, Jets, Oscillators)
- Non-invasive support: BiPAP V60 and CPAP
- ABG analysis and blood gas interpretation
- Bronchoscopy assistance and procedure support
- Acute care and ICU protocols for adult (and NICU when applicable) patients
- Clinical leadership during high-acuity events and response team participation
- Proficient electronic charting (Cerner) and accurate documentation
