Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver precise radiation treatments to patients using linear accelerators, following prescribed treatment plans
• Operate and troubleshoot Varian Trilogy, Clinac 21EX and TrueBeam systems with attention to safety and accuracy
• Verify patient setup and imaging, ensuring accurate positioning and radiation dosing each session
• Perform routine machine quality assurance checks and document findings to maintain regulatory compliance
• Chart treatments and patient progress in Cerner accurately and timely
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care
• Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, side-effect management and safety protocols
• Maintain radiation safety practices and proper use of monitoring badges provided by the agency

Qualifications

• ARRT certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• California Radiation Therapist license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of radiation therapy experience (preferred: experience on Varian linacs)
• Experience with Varian Trilogy, Clinac 21EX and/or TrueBeam strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner charting systems
• Ability to pass facility orientation and background checks

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with linear accelerators (Varian Trilogy, Clinac 21EX, TrueBeam)
• Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and use of dosimetry badges
• Proficient charting/documentation skills in Cerner
• Patient positioning, immobilization and verification imaging techniques
• Basic machine QA and minor troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary oncology care
