Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate, compassionate radiation therapy treatments to patients using Varian Trilogy, Clinac 21EX and TrueBeam systems
- Operate and perform daily checks on linear accelerators to ensure safe, precise treatment delivery
- Position patients and verify setup using immobilization devices and imaging per treatment plans
- Document treatments and chart in Cerner, maintaining clear, timely clinical records
- Follow radiation safety protocols and coordinate with the team regarding badge monitoring and exposure logs
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient care
- Participate in quality assurance activities and troubleshoot minor equipment or workflow issues
Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification (required)
- California Radiation Therapist license (required)
- BLS certification (required); ACLS not required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Experience operating Varian linear accelerators (Trilogy, Clinac 21EX, TrueBeam preferred)
- Comfortable charting in Cerner or similar EMR systems
- Able to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and complete orientation hours as required
- Radiation badge provided by the agency (facility does not provide badge)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with Varian linacs (Trilogy, Clinac 21EX, TrueBeam)
- Radiation safety principles and exposure monitoring
- Patient positioning, immobilization techniques, and image-guided setup
- Basic QA procedures for treatment machines and daily checks
- Clinical documentation and charting proficiency (Cerner)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
