Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure sterile field and instruments are ready for each case
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during orthopedic, general, GYN, robotic and trauma procedures
• Perform instrument counts and manage sterile supplies to maintain patient safety
• Document case activity and chart in Meditech accurately and timely
• Respond to on-call notifications and report to the facility within the required 20–30 minute window
• Float between assigned facilities when coverage needs require flexibility
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and maintain required certifications

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required (verification required)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Comfortable with scrub role in Orthopedics, General Surgery, GYN, Robotic and Trauma cases
• Able to meet mandatory on-call/standby requirements and respond within 20–30 minutes
• Willingness to float between facilities as needed
• No OR license required to submit

Education

• Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong scrub and sterile technique
• Familiarity with Meditech charting system
• Experience with orthopedic, general, GYN, robotic and trauma instrumentation
• Ability to support robotic surgery setups and instrument handling
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care OR settings
• Reliable time management for shift schedules and on-call responsibilities
