Shift Type: Rotating nights (weeknights plus weekend & holiday rotation) — 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM NOC; includes call rotation with 30-minute response time; guaranteed 40 hours/week

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment to ensure patient safety
- Assemble and prepare Neuro/Ortho and general surgery instrument sets with precision
- Sterilize and process surgical loaner instruments according to protocol
- Document work accurately in Cerner and follow unit-specific sterile processing procedures
- Float between Virginia Mason sites as needed and accept premium float assignments when applicable
- Participate in weekend, holiday and call rotations and respond within the required timeframe
- Maintain reliable attendance and contribute to a dependable, high-functioning team
Qualifications
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) — required
- Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience
- Proven experience in decontamination, assembly and instrument sterilization
- Familiarity with Neuro/Ortho instrumentation and surgical instrument loaners preferred
- Comfort with floating between sites and participating in call/rotation schedules
- Ability to follow infection control policies and unit-specific sterile processing orientation
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CRCST certification required; unit-specific orientation provided (approximately 12 hours)
Knowledge & Skills
- Sterile Processing best practices and instrument sterilization techniques
- Decontamination workflows and assembly of surgical sets
- Experience with Neuro and Orthopedic instrumentation
- Charting and documentation in Cerner
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to reliability
- Team communication skills for floating and call rotations
