Roles & Responsibilities

• Decontaminate surgical instruments and devices to the highest safety standards
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment including Steris, Vpro, and Medivator
• Assemble instrument sets accurately for a variety of trauma and OR cases
• Perform high level disinfection (HLD) and ensure proper documentation
• Follow unit-specific orientation and preceptor guidance to maintain quality
• Collaborate with OR and clinical teams to support timely case flow and patient safety

Qualifications

• CRCST or CBSPD certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience (trauma/OR experience strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with Steris, Vpro, Medivator or similar sterilization systems
• Ability to submit required documentation (driver's license within 60-mile radius as requested)
• Comfortable with hospital policies, orientation week attendance, and in-state presence for training

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CRCST or CBSPD certification required; additional sterile processing credentials a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile processing workflows: decontamination, sterilization, assembly
• High Level Disinfection (HLD) techniques and best practices
• Instrument set assembly and case cart preparation for OR/trauma
• Experience with Steris, Vpro, Medivator sterilizers
• Working knowledge of Epic charting for documentation
• Strong attention to detail, infection control mindset, and teamwork
