Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up operating rooms and instrumentation, ensuring strict sterile technique
• Assist surgeons during procedures including total joints, ORIF/arthroscopy and C-sections
• Operate and support imaging and specialty equipment such as C-arm and MAKO robot
• Manage instrument handling, counts, and sterilization to maintain OR efficiency and safety
• Document procedures and chart in Meditech accurately and promptly
• Participate in on-call coverage and weekend rotations as scheduled
• Follow facility fit-testing and facial hair policies to maintain PPE compliance

Qualifications

• BLS required
• ND UAP required (must meet North Dakota state requirements)
• CST or NCCT preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist or in the OR
• Familiarity with total joints and C-sections required; MAKO robot and ortho experience a plus
• Able to pass required fit testing (note: facial hair may prevent some fit tests and could affect assignment)
• Willingness to adhere to radius and RTO rules for this contract

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
• CST or NCCT certification preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BLS certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and operating room workflow knowledge
• Comfortable with C-arm use and intraoperative imaging support
• Experience or willingness to support MAKO robot-assisted joint cases
• Familiar with ligasure and harmonic scalpel usage and safety
• Proficient with Meditech charting and documentation
• Ability to work across adult, pediatric, geriatric and obstetric surgical cases
