Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM (10-hour day shifts); call rotation included (one evening/night call shift per week starting ~10:30 PM to 6:30 AM as scheduled) with every-other-week call and periodic weekend coverage (every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field using proper sterile technique for general, orthopedic, neuro, urology and robotic procedures
• Scrub, circulate, and assist during robotic (da Vinci) and CVOR cases including TAVR and valve replacements
• Set up and troubleshoot anesthesia monitors and ventilators as needed with the anesthesia team
• Pass instruments, manage supplies, and anticipate surgeon needs to keep cases flowing efficiently
• Document care and case details in Cerner/Surginet accurately and promptly
• Respond to call assignments within the required 30-60 minute response window
• Follow department policies for scrubs, infection control, and patient safety at all times
• Participate in team huddles, continuing education, and unit-based improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS and NIHSS highly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of operating room / surgical tech experience (robotics/da Vinci experience required)
• CVOR or C-section experience is a strong plus for CST candidates
• Ability to work 10-hour day shifts, participate in call rotation, and work assigned weekends/holidays
• Current, unrestricted ability to work in the U.S. and pass standard facility onboarding and background checks

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in scrubbing, circulating, and sterile technique
• Hands-on experience with robotic surgery (da Vinci) and orthopedic assistance
• Familiarity with CVOR procedures, TAVR and AVR cases
• Comfort using Cerner / Surginet electronic charting
• Experience with anesthesia monitors and ventilator equipment
• Sterile processing knowledge and auto-claving familiarity
• Strong communication, teamwork, and situational awareness in fast-paced OR environments
