Nuclear Medicine Technologist

End Date: 03-09-2026
Shift Type: Days — 8-hour shifts (unit determines exact start/end times; schedule may be adjusted to 8- or 10-hour shifts to meet guaranteed 40 hrs/week). Coverage includes weekend and holiday rotation; on-call required with a 30-minute response window (14-16 call days per month). First to float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures including cardiac, HIDA, bone, gastric emptying, GI bleed, lung, brain death and DAT studies with accuracy and compassion
- Start IVs and prepare/administer radiopharmaceuticals following established safety protocols
- Operate and troubleshoot departmental equipment including Siemens Symbia T6 and imaging room systems
- Use PACS and Meditech/Fuji Synapse/NMIS to accurately document studies and communicate results
- Provide excellent patient care — position patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety
- Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed to maintain coverage
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond within required timeframe to meet patient needs
- Maintain compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and departmental policies
Qualifications
- Current BLS certification
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification required; NMTCB-NCT certified preferred/required per posting
- Registered/MRT credentials as applicable (MRT listed in requirements)
- Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience
- Proven ability to start IVs
- Comfortable floating between campuses and working weekends/holidays
- Willingness and ability to participate in on-call rotation with a 30-minute response time
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with PACS (Fuji Synapse) and EMR/charting in MEDITECH
- Familiarity with NMIS and departmental workflow systems
- Experience operating Siemens Symbia T6 and general nuclear medicine camera systems
- Competence in cardiac and general nuclear medicine imaging protocols
- Strong patient positioning, IV insertion, and radiopharmaceutical handling skills
- Good communication skills for interacting with patients, radiologists and the care team
- Solid understanding of radiation safety and imaging quality assurance
