Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners and perform high-quality imaging studies including brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, breast, cardiac, prostate, and musculoskeletal exams
• Screen and safely image patients with implanted devices by researching device compatibility prior to scanning
• Start IVs and administer contrast per protocol while maintaining excellent patient comfort and safety
• Accurately document exams and patient information in Epic and manage images in Sectra PACS
• Collaborate closely with radiologists, technologists, aides, and the care team to deliver efficient, patient-centered care
• Support department needs by floating to outpatient clinics or other MRI rooms as required
• Participate in standby and holiday rotations and help maintain consistent departmental coverage
• Maintain infection control practices including completion of N95 fit testing and adherence to BLS protocols

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required; ARRT(MR) certification preferred
• Washington Radiologic Technologist License with MRI designation required by state rules (candidates must be able to upload official license showing MRI designation)
• If ARMRIT certified, candidate must also pass ARRT MR boards to meet requirements
• Current healthcare provider BLS certification required
• IV insertion skills required
• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
• N95 fit testing completion preferred or willingness to complete prior to start

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record
• Experience using Sectra PACS for image management
• Familiarity with GE 1.5T and 3T systems and outpatient Philips and Hitachi scanners
• Experience or interest in Cardiac MRI, Breast MRI and Breast Biopsy MRI is a plus
• Strong patient communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to research and verify implanted device safety prior to imaging
• Good clinical judgment and attention to detail when following imaging protocols
