Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across med/surg populations including surgical and medical diagnoses
• Assess patients, monitor telemetry and confirm ECG strips as needed to keep patients safe
• Administer treatments and manage CPAP/BiPAP/hi-flow respiratory support per unit protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and communicate changes in patient condition clearly
• Serve as a flexible floater—adapt quickly to different patient needs and unit routines
• Support patient admissions, discharges and transfers efficiently to maintain flow on a 61-bed combined unit
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and follow the travel CBO and float checklist to meet site standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to submit license required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Med/Surg experience preferred and noted)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Experience with EPIC charting (required)
• Telemetry experience and ECG strip interpretation skills
• Comfortable with CPAP, BiPAP and hi-flow equipment
• Ability to float between units and work nights with every-other-weekend rotation
• Must be able to complete required travel/contract orientation hours

Education

• BSN not required (posting indicates BSN Required: No)
• Completion of accredited nursing program and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
• Familiarity with postop surgical care (orthopedics, bariatric, urology, general)
• Comfort managing patients with CHF, CVA, SOB and diabetic issues
• Good communication, teamwork and delegation when supporting nursing aides and monitor techs
• Adaptability to float across a 61-bed combined unit
• Time management for 12-hour shift workflows and prioritization
