Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, usually 3 shifts/week (e.g., Mon/Wed/Fri or Tue/Thu/Sat), every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday; day shift (float to MedSurg units)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patient condition continuously, interpreting telemetry and confirming monitor strips as needed
- Provide safe, accurate medication administration and documentation in EPIC
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care for medical and surgical diagnoses (total joints, fractures, CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetic issues, etc.)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and communicate changes to ensure excellent outcomes
- Support unit workflow by floating where needed across MedSurg units and mentoring colleagues when asked
- Respond to changes in patient status quickly and escalate care according to unit protocols
- Perform thorough patient education and discharge planning to help patients leave stronger
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission in North Dakota (compact license accepted if applicable)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of MedSurg nursing experience (experience with telemetry is strongly preferred)
- Comfortable with 12-hour day shifts and floating across MedSurg units
- Experience with electronic charting (EPIC) preferred
- Strong assessment skills, ability to read monitor strips and confirm with monitor techs
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid MedSurg nursing fundamentals and acute care judgment
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm strip confirmation
- Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
- Electronic charting proficiency (EPIC)
- Excellent patient assessment and clinical prioritization
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
