Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights (3 x 12-hour shifts/week to meet guaranteed 36 hours; typical night window often 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM though exact unit start/end times may vary), 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (Sat/Sun), holidays as needed

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate med-surg nursing care to adult patients in a 22-room acute care unit
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and complete dysrhythmia exam requirements prior to assignment
- Float to telemetry floors as needed and competently read/interpret telemetry strips when assigned
- Perform sterile procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, maintaining sterile field
- Titrate heparin per unit protocol and monitor patient response carefully
- Participate in SIMs Lab, orientation, lifts/restraints and wound care training to ensure unit competency
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (RT, charge RN, house supervisor) to coordinate safe patient care
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes to leadership
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in Arizona or able to obtain state licensure prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years recent med-surg nursing experience; Level 1 trauma experience REQUIRED
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Demonstrated competency with dysrhythmia recognition (must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance)
- Experience with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab competency required)
- Comfort floating to telemetry and prior telemetry experience preferred
- Ability to titrate heparin drips per protocol
- Travel-ready requirements: own vehicle for travel teams, natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean-shaven for fit test
Education
- Active RN license
- BLS required
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac monitor interpretation
- Med-surg patient care: post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, infection management
- Wound care and infection prevention, maintaining sterile technique
- Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change protocols
- Heparin titration and monitoring
- Experience charting in Cerner and using unit-specific workflows
- Ability to prioritize in a 1:4-5 nurse:patient environment and float across med-surg/tele units
