Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (typical night schedule 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), includes weekend coverage (4 weekend shifts per 8-week period) and holiday rotation

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality acute MedSurg and neuro-rehab nursing care for a primarily neuro population (TBI, CVA, brain tumor, post-transplant patients)
- Perform and document patient assessments, IV therapy, wound care, Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes per facility standards
- Maintain sterile field during procedures and complete SIMs Lab competency checks on day 1 of orientation
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team during daily rounds and family-centered care planning
- Manage a patient assignment per unit ratios (RN 1:6) and ensure safe handoffs and continuity of care
- Participate in lifts/restraints education and safe patient handling practices
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias (must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance)
- Support quality improvement initiatives and follow Cerner documentation practices
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with strong MedSurg background
- Required: Level 1 Trauma experience
- Required certifications: BLS and FIM (for RN and Tech as noted)
- Competency in IV therapy, Foley catheter insertion, central line care and wound care
- Comfortable with neuro-rehab diagnoses (TBI, CVA, brain tumor) and family-centered communication
- Must pass facility-required dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed) and SIMs Lab competency
- Valid driver’s license and ability to comply with 50-mile radius rule
- Facility appearance standards apply (natural hair color, no facial piercings; men clean-shaven for fit test)
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BSN not required (facility indicates BSN Required: ---)
Knowledge & Skills
- Acute MedSurg nursing and neuro rehab knowledge
- Sterile technique and procedure competency
- Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac monitoring awareness
- IV therapy, central line dressing changes, Foley catheter skills
- Wound care and post-operative patient management
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation
- Strong verbal communication and family partnership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with therapy teams and rehab physicians
