Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for adult medical-surgical and orthopedic patients, including post-op cancer interventions
• Safely titrate IV drips such as heparin, lidocaine and TPN gtt according to protocol
• Monitor patients via central telemetry and promptly recognize and report changes in condition
• Document accurately and thoroughly in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and compliance
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and assist as charge nurse when required
• Maintain timely interventions, clear communication with patients and families, and adherence to unit policies (including fingernail and dress code rules)

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for Nebraska practice
• Minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience (medical-surgical/orthopedics preferred)
• BLS (AHA) certification required at time of submission
• Current driver’s license required for radius rule verification
• Experience with EPIC charting and central monitoring/telemetry
• Ability to titrate drips and manage common drips listed (heparin, lidocaine, TPN)
• Willingness to work rotating holidays and every 3rd weekend; adheres to unit dress code

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not explicitly required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical and orthopedic nursing knowledge with post-op care experience
• Telemetry interpretation and central monitoring awareness
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic charting and accurate documentation practices
• IV therapy skills including drip titration and management
• Excellent communication, timeliness, and patient-centered care approach
• Charge nurse or leadership capability when needed
