Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes day and night rotations, every 3rd weekend, holiday rotation, and occasional floats to the ER (manager schedules with block scheduling available)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document changes in condition promptly
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy safely and accurately
• Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and titrate drips such as insulin, heparin, and levophed per orders
• Interpret telemetry strips and document cardiac findings for timely intervention
• Manage respiratory equipment and deliver respiratory treatments as needed
• Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered care in a critical access hospital environment
• Maintain accurate charting in Meditech and ensure regulatory and facility documentation standards are met

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, ideally MedSurg or equivalent
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred if working ER shifts
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing infusion pumps independently
• Experience reading telemetry strips and managing cardiac patients
• Ability to manage respiratory equipment including high-flow, CPAP/BiPAP, and familiarity with ventilators like the Hamilton C1
• Strong teamwork, communication, and social skills for a small hospital setting
• First-time travelers are welcome — orientation and support provided

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Infusion pump management and drip titration
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring
• Respiratory equipment management and respiratory treatments
• Meditech charting experience
• Ability to work in a critical access hospital and float to the ER
