Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes day and night rotations, every 3rd weekend, holiday rotation, and occasional floats to the ER (manager schedules with block scheduling available)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document changes in condition promptly
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy safely and accurately
- Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and titrate drips such as insulin, heparin, and levophed per orders
- Interpret telemetry strips and document cardiac findings for timely intervention
- Manage respiratory equipment and deliver respiratory treatments as needed
- Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered care in a critical access hospital environment
- Maintain accurate charting in Meditech and ensure regulatory and facility documentation standards are met
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of practice (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, ideally MedSurg or equivalent
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred if working ER shifts
- Comfortable titrating drips and managing infusion pumps independently
- Experience reading telemetry strips and managing cardiac patients
- Ability to manage respiratory equipment including high-flow, CPAP/BiPAP, and familiarity with ventilators like the Hamilton C1
- Strong teamwork, communication, and social skills for a small hospital setting
- First-time travelers are welcome — orientation and support provided
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and IV therapy
- Infusion pump management and drip titration
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- Respiratory equipment management and respiratory treatments
- Meditech charting experience
- Ability to work in a critical access hospital and float to the ER
- Strong interpersonal skills and dependable teamwork
