Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Day shift 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; schedule set by manager with every-other-weekend requirement and holidays as needed (night coverage may be required)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a 30-bed MedSurg unit, including post-op patients and bariatric care
- Perform thorough patient assessments and continuous monitoring to catch changes early
- Deliver and manage post-operative care including PCA pumps, JP drains and hemo vacs
- Collaborate with the care team, including RT and monitor techs, to coordinate safe and effective treatments
- Conduct bedside shift reports to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care
- Float to medical and telemetry areas as needed and assist with patient management there
- Document care accurately in EPIC to maintain clear clinical communication
- Support early ambulation and recovery-focused interventions for surgical patients
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible to practice in North Dakota
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg or post-op nursing experience
- Comfortable with EPIC charting system
- Experience with post-operative care, PCA pumps, TPN or occasional heparin drips is a strong plus
- Able to float to medical and telemetry units and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- MedSurg nursing and post-op patient management
- Patient assessment and monitoring for surgical and medical overflow patients
- Bedside shift report and effective handoff communication
- Familiarity with PCA pumps, JP drains/hemo vacs and colostomy care
- Experience with early ambulation protocols and bariatric care considerations
- Basic telemetry exposure and comfort working with remote monitor tech support
- Competence with EPIC electronic charting
