Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, typically 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; includes nights with required weekend coverage (4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks) and holiday rotation

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality neuro rehab nursing care for a 52-bed Neuro Rehab unit, managing a typical RN ratio of 1:6
- Perform acute MedSurg tasks including IV therapy, wound care, and monitoring complex post-op patients
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during daily rounds and contribute to patient-centered care plans
- Maintain safe sterile technique for procedures and pass SIMs Lab competency testing (Foley insertion, central line dressing changes where applicable)
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias promptly (successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam is required prior to acceptance)
- Deliver compassionate communication and family partnership for patients with TBI, CVA, brain tumor resection and transplant patients
- Work with charge RNs and techs to ensure smooth unit flow and appropriate escalation of issues
Qualifications
- Current RN license (eligible to submit AZ license or willing to wait per employer policy)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience required; strong MedSurg experience is essential
- Level 1 trauma experience is a must
- BLS certification required; FIM certification preferred
- Competency in dysrhythmia recognition and willingness to pass required dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed)
- Comfortable with SIMs Lab skills (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change) or willing to demonstrate competency
- Ability to travel for assignment and have reliable personal vehicle for travel teams
- Facility requirements: natural hair color, no facial piercings; men clean-shaven for fit testing
Education
- Active RN license in good standing
- Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN acceptable (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong MedSurg and rehab nursing skills
- Experience with neuro population (TBI, CVA, brain tumor) and post-transplant care
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR charting
- Sterile technique and infection prevention practices
- Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac monitoring
- Ability to use lifts and restraints safely and follow facility-specific wound care protocols
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and family-centered care approach
