Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical and surgical patients on a 61-bed combined MedSurg float unit
• Assess, plan and implement individualized care plans using EPIC charting
• Collaborate with monitor techs and confirm telemetry strips to ensure patient safety
• Operate and monitor respiratory support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP and hi-flow when needed
• Float between units as needed, adapting quickly and maintaining excellent patient care
• Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary team members and participate in handoffs and shift reporting
• Support unit workflows and step into charge-related tasks when appropriate

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (ND or compact state where applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Minimum 2 years experience in MedSurg or comparable acute care settings
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and confirming strips
• Ability to float across med/surg areas and work collaboratively on a unit-first culture
• Travel nursing experience is a plus but not required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid med/surg clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Telemetry monitoring and basic ECG rhythm recognition
• Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen delivery
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
• Strong communication, teamwork and time management skills
• Adaptability to float to different patient populations and workflows
