Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care for a 30-bed acute med-surg unit
• Provide excellent post-operative care including early ambulation and drain management
• Manage PCA pumps, occasional heparin drips, and TPN per unit protocols
• Perform thorough bedside shift report and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Float to medical and telemetry areas when needed and assist with remote monitor workflows
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear patient records
• Support patient education and family communication during the recovery process
• Work as part of a close-knit team to maintain excellent unit culture and patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for submission in North Dakota
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (medical-surgical preferred)
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and acute care documentation
• Surgical/post-operative experience, early ambulation, and telemetry skills are highly desired
• Flexible to float to medical and telemetry and work every-other-weekend

Education

• ADN or nursing diploma acceptable; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and post-operative care skills
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and remote tele/monitor tech workflows
• Experience with PCA pumps, JP drains, colostomy care, and bariatric patient handling
• Comfortable troubleshooting basic respiratory support and working with RT
• Skilled in effective bedside handoff and multidisciplinary communication
• Proficient in EPIC electronic charting and documentation best practices
