Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate MedSurg/Telemetry nursing care for Neuro and MedSurg patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately in EPIC
• Titrate IV drips including heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine per protocol
• Manage PCA pumps and other common titratable infusions
• Prioritize hourly rounding, timely discharges and admissions, and flow of the business of the day
• Collaborate with charge nurses, tele/monitor techs, and patient care techs for coordinated care
• Use mechanical lifts and safe patient handling techniques when indicated
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and strong communication skills with diverse patient populations

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing (must be able to submit license on submittal)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (MedSurg/Telemetry experience preferred)
• BLS (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal (radius rule applies)
• Comfort and experience with EPIC charting
• Ability to titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine infusions per unit protocols
• Travel experience preferred but strong candidates without travel history will be considered

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg and telemetry assessment skills
• Experience with IV drip titration and PCA pump management
• Tele-awareness and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation
• Good time management and ability to handle multiple discharges/admissions in a shift
• Team-oriented approach, reliable attendance, and strong clinical judgment
• Cultural competence and awareness of Spanish and other languages common to the area
