Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and compassionate assistance with activities of daily living for residents
- Support patients with dementia and respiratory diagnoses such as pneumonia with patience and best practices
- Chart patient care and observations accurately in EPIC and the facility charting system
- Collaborate with the care team and charge nurse to ensure smooth continuity of care
- Adhere to infection control policies, safety protocols, and facility dress code (scrubs)
- Float to assigned units as needed while prioritizing patient-centered care and teamwork
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — state-specific license required for submission
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience — medical floor nursing experience preferred
- Previous travel experience required for this role
- Experience charting in EPIC preferred
- Willingness to comply with facility radius and exclusivity rules and to provide required RTO (≤7 days for the 13-week contract)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical skills in direct patient care and ADL support
- Experience caring for patients with dementia and pneumonia
- Comfortable working in LTC/SNF and post-acute care settings
- Proficient charting and documentation practices, familiarity with EPIC
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to follow charge nurse direction
- Flexible and adaptable when floating between units
