Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, independent nursing care for labor & delivery, postpartum, routine nursery and intermediate nursery patients
• Monitor fetal status using central electronic fetal monitoring (FE Centricity Perinatal) and act decisively on concerning findings
• Manage and titrate IV drips including Pitocin, insulin drips and magnesium sulfate per unit protocols
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and initial stabilization as needed (NRP skills required)
• Collaborate with on-call OBs, neonatal teams and unit charge nurse to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Document care accurately in MEDITECH and communicate handoffs clearly to the team
• Serve as a flexible team player and float to assist other units when needed
• Deliver compassionate patient and family education while adhering to AWHONN guidelines

Qualifications

• Current RN license for Oregon required (eligible for OR 90-day emergency license)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, postpartum or related maternity nursing
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Comfortable and experienced with IV/drip titration (Pitocin, insulin, magnesium sulfate)
• Ability to function independently across L&D, postpartum and nursery areas
• Familiarity with electronic fetal monitoring and central fetal monitoring systems
• Experience with MEDITECH charting and FE Centricity Perinatal is a plus

Education

• Active RN license (ADN or BSN acceptable) — BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong labor and delivery assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficiency with electronic fetal monitoring interpretation
• IV management and drip titration expertise
• Neonatal stabilization and basic respiratory support knowledge (Bubble CPAP exposure is a plus)
• Solid communication, teamwork and charge/backup collaboration skills
• Comfort with acute care workflows and ability to reprioritize during busy shifts
• Understanding of AWHONN guidelines and unit-level protocols
