Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating night schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts). Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts per rotation; must work 2 of 3 major holidays. Night/NOC assignment with occasional float to Maternal-Baby/Postpartum as needed.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for laboring and antepartum patients using evidence-based AWHONN standards
- Confidently circulate and recover C-sections in the unit OR suites
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret tracings using Fetal Link (EFM)
- Administer and titrate IV medications per protocol including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
- Execute neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and assist with immediate neonatal stabilization
- Document care accurately and efficiently in the Cerner electronic medical record
- Collaborate with OB hospitalists, anesthesia, RT, pharmacy and the multidisciplinary team for timely patient care
- Participate in unit simulation lab on day 1 of orientation and complete required dysrhythmia competency
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, procedures and postpartum transitions
- Support safe nurse-to-patient assignments and escalate concerns to charge nurses or managers
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to submit for AZ) — agency will accept waiting-to-submit licenses as noted
- Minimum 4 years of nursing experience with recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Demonstrated C-section experience and ability to circulate/recover in OR
- Current ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications required
- Proven ability with computer charting (Cerner preferred)
- Comfortable titrating drips per protocol (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate)
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (80% passing score; up to 2 attempts) and a pass/fail simulation lab on orientation day
- Willingness to work nights, scheduled weekends and at least 2 of 3 major holidays
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). BSN preferred but not required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor and Delivery clinical care and protocols
- Fetal monitoring and EFM systems (Fetal Link) with dysrhythmia interpretation
- C-section workflow, sterile field support and OR circulating/recovering duties
- Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and immediate newborn care
- IV medication titration and drip management (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate)
- Electronic charting proficiency (Cerner preferred)
- Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and safe nurse-to-patient ratios
- OB triage, antepartum and postpartum maternal-baby care
