Roles & Responsibilities

• Act as charge nurse to lead the team during your shift and ensure smooth operations
• Administer medications accurately and manage medication rounds for residents
• Provide wound care and monitor healing, documenting progress in the charting system
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff and support personnel on the unit
• Use Matrix EMR to document assessments, interventions and care plans thoroughly
• Coordinate with physicians, social workers and PT as needed to optimize resident care
• Ensure resident safety and adherence to long-term care standards and policies
• Participate in unit orientation and handoffs to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Dakota
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
• Minimum 2 years of Long Term Care (LTC) nursing experience
• Experience functioning as a charge nurse or strong leadership capability
• Comfortable with medication administration and wound care responsibilities
• Familiarity with Matrix EMR is a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration best practices and safety checks
• Wound assessment and wound care techniques
• Long term care clinical needs including dementia, diabetes and cardiac conditions
• Charge nurse leadership, delegation and team coordination
• Clear documentation and charting using Matrix EMR
• Strong communication with residents, families and on-call physicians
• Time management and prioritization on 12-hour shifts
