Shift Type: Night-focused rotating 12-hour shifts (Night: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; Day coverage may include 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM), typical schedule is 3 shifts per week with a 36 hours/week guarantee, every third weekend required (may be every other weekend depending on need); schedule includes nights and weekends

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate care for laboring and antepartum patients, managing inductions, vaginal deliveries and recoveries
- Circulate and assist during C-sections and support post-operative recovery
- Manage high-risk obstetric patients and triage assessments with clinical confidence
- Administer and titrate medications such as oxytocin, magnesium, epidural-related meds and blood pressure agents safely
- Perform couplet care, supporting mother and newborn together when assigned
- Document care accurately in EPIC and collaborate with NICU, educator and perinatal safety teams
- Participate in unit orientation, pass orientation competency exam and maintain required certifications
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure eligible for practice in Nebraska
- Minimum 2 years Labor and Delivery experience required with demonstrated ability to manage antepartum and laboring patients independently
- Ability to provide couplet care and float between L&D and postpartum as needed
- Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
- Driver's license required at time of submittal to confirm radius eligibility
- Willingness to complete orientation pass/fail exam and meet facility policies (no artificial nails in patient care areas)
- Comfort working with OB circulations, C-section assistance, IV pumps and SCD devices
Education
- Active RN license (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with EPIC charting (preferred)
- Experience with IV pump programming and SCDs
- Clinical knowledge of oxytocin, magnesium sulfate and epidural management
- Strong critical thinking for high-risk OB situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced L&D environment
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and perinatal best practices
