Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor and delivery nursing care for low and high-risk patients
• Monitor fetal status using advanced fetal heart monitoring and Cerner FHM
• Circulate and assist during C-sections alongside NICU RN, RT, anesthesia, and laborist teams
• Manage triage assessments and labor assignments at required ratios (1:2 labor, 1:1 delivery, 1:3 triage)
• Deliver compassionate postpartum and mother/baby couplet care
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned and accept leadership responsibilities as needed
• Accurately document patient care and chart in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate closely with OB, neonatology, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy teams for 24/7 coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) licensure (eligible to work in CA)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (labor and delivery preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
• Demonstrated experience with Cerner EMR and Fetal Heart Monitoring systems
• Proven ability to circulate during C-sections
• Comfort with floating to Postpartum and taking charge assignments as needed
• BSN not required

Education

• Active RN license; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal heart monitoring interpretation and AFM skills
• Proficiency with Cerner charting and FHM workflows
• Experience managing VBACs, multiples, vacuum deliveries and other obstetric variations
• Ability to work triage, labor, delivery and postpartum settings
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams including neonatology and anesthesia
• Telemetry monitoring familiarity for maternal patients
• Clinical judgment for rapid response in acute maternal or fetal events
