Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based labor and delivery care to laboring and preterm pregnant patients
• Circulate and recover C-sections confidently in the unit ORs
• Monitor fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring (Fetal Link) and act on findings
• Titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate per established protocols
• Perform electronic charting in Cerner accurately and timely
• Participate in unit simulation lab on orientation day and maintain dysrhythmia competency
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, anesthesia, RT, pharmacy and IV teams for coordinated patient care
• Adhere to AWHONN guidelines and unit staffing standards to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license and eligibility to work in Arizona
• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience, with recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Must have hands-on C-section experience and comfort circulating/recovering in the OR
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Proven experience with electronic charting, preferably Cerner
• Ability and willingness to pass a dysrhythmia exam (passing score 80%) and a pass/fail sim lab on orientation
• Comfort working in a Level II perinatal unit and Level 1 trauma center environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma acceptable; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner EMR and electronic fetal monitoring systems (Fetal Link)
• Strong dysrhythmia recognition and dysrhythmia exam readiness
• Skill in perioperative C-section care including circulating and recovery roles
• Clinical competence in Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate titration protocols
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) skills and newborn stabilization basics
• OB triage and antepartum assessment experience
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in high-acuity settings
