Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (night), includes weekend coverage (every 3rd weekend; may be up to every other) and holiday coverage (1 major, 1 minor); guaranteed 36 hours/week

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality Labor & Delivery nursing care to high-risk and routine OB patients
- Circulate in the OR for C-sections, ensuring safe, efficient perioperative support
- Perform thorough newborn assessments and routine infant care after delivery
- Monitor fetal status using Electronic Fetal Monitoring (Obix) and act promptly on changes
- Titrate drips (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, pain medications) safely and per protocol
- Float to Postpartum as needed to care for mother and baby with clinical competence
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain excellent patient records
- Collaborate with MDs, residents, CRNAs, OBTs and the multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Labor & Delivery experience preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intro to Fetal Monitoring
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR and assist with C-sections
- Competency in newborn assessment and routine infant care
- Experience titrating drips (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, analgesics)
- Proven Epic charting experience
- Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius eligibility)
- Candidates cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI/Dignity)
- Willingness to float to Postpartum and occasionally serve as a sitter
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Labor & Delivery processes, high-risk OB and routine obstetric care
- Proficient with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (Obix) and fetal strip interpretation
- Skilled in newborn assessment and neonatal resuscitation (NRP) principles
- Comfortable circulating in the OR and working with anesthesia teams (CRNAs)
- Ability to titrate and manage common OB drips safely
- Teamwork, flexibility, positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently under fast-paced, acuity-variable conditions
