Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and delivery care throughout intrapartum and immediate postpartum periods
• Monitor fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring (FetaLink) and respond to changes promptly
• Titrate and manage drips such as oxytocin and magnesium sulfate following unit protocols
• Support and assist in OB trauma responses and coordinate with in-house OB/Neonatology and Anesthesia
• Circulate and recover patients in the PACU and provide perioperative support in the OR when needed
• Perform triage, assessments, and patient education for antepartum and postpartum patients
• Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain sterile technique for procedures and complete PASS/FAIL SIMs Lab requirements (Foley insertion, central line dressing changes as applicable)

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to work in Arizona required)
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery / intrapartum experience
• Level I trauma experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP and Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Comfortable titrating infusions (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate) and responding to OB emergencies
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Travel nurse experience is a plus; first-time travelers will be considered
• Ability to pass PASS/FAIL SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (BSN preferred if available)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of intrapartum and postpartum care and high-risk OB management
• Proficient in electronic fetal monitoring (FetaLink) and telemetry (Phillips)
• Skilled in titration of drips and emergency response for OB trauma
• Competent in Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing care, and maintaining sterile field
• Experience working in LDR, OR, PACU, triage and antecare settings
• Excellent clinical judgment, triage skills, and multidisciplinary communication
