Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) nursing care to birthing patients and their families
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using Electronic Fetal Monitoring (GE Centricity) and interpret strips to guide care
• Circulate or scrub in Cesarean sections as needed and support the OR team professionally and effectively
• Titrate and manage common drips (Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, Labetalol) safely according to orders and unit protocols
• Respond rapidly to obstetrical emergencies (hemorrhage, hypertension, neonatal resuscitation) with calm, competent action
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatal and respiratory teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Document care accurately in Meditech and support continuity through clear handoffs
• Coach and support patients and families through labor, delivery and postpartum recovery with compassion and evidence-based practice

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to submit; 90-day emergency OR license can be requested upon offer)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (L&D experience preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, STABLE
• Ability to circulate and/or scrub for Cesarean sections
• Comfort with medication titration and common obstetric drips
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and reading fetal strips in OB
• Ability to work nights and meet weekend/call scheduling requirements

Education

• Active RN license in good standing
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of Labor & Delivery and Postpartum nursing care
• Proficient with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (GE Centricity) and telemetry
• Experience with Meditech charting system
• Skilled in neonatal respiratory support basics (vent, CPAP) and coordination with RT
• Familiar with AWHONN guidelines and obstetrical emergency protocols
• Comfortable assisting in the OR environment (circulate/scrub) and surgical workflow
• Medication titration and infusion pump management experience
