Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to laboring and postpartum patients in L&D and postpartum settings
• Monitor fetal heart tracings using the GE EFM system and act promptly on concerning findings
• Titrate OB and critical drips (e.g., Pitocin, cardiac drips) safely and per protocol
• Assess, triage and stabilize patients presenting to triage and manage common OB diagnoses like preterm labor and hyperbilirubinemia
• Float to Med/Surg and Pediatrics as needed, delivering safe care across settings
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment (Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, Airvo) and collaborate with RT when required
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Respond to 1-hour call/standby requests and coordinate with on-call OB/neonatology and anesthesia as needed

Qualifications

• Current RN license (eligible to submit applicants — confirm state licensure requirements)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; must have Labor & Delivery plus MedSurg/Pediatrics experience
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing common OB medications and protocols
• Experience with EFM (GE) and bedside monitoring; familiarity with Phillips telemetry a plus
• Ability to float to MedSurg/Peds and work collaboratively on a small critical-access team
• Strong communication, motivation and approachability — great for team-based care

Education

• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery clinical skills and postpartum care practices
• Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) experience — GE systems
• EPIC charting and electronic documentation proficiency
• Telemetry interpretation and strip reading (RN responsibility with ICU/CN support when needed)
• Titration of drips and familiarity with common OB and ICU medications
• Troubleshooting respiratory equipment (Vent/CPAP/BiPAP/High Flow/Airvo)
• Understanding of AWHONN guidelines for staffing and ratios
