Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotation includes nights and days, every third weekend, holidays as needed; schedule posted 6 weeks in advance

Candidate Pay Rate: $81 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor & delivery and postpartum care for obstetric patients
- Monitor fetal and maternal status using AWHONN fetal monitoring standards and GE/Corometrics EFM systems
- Triage patients effectively and prioritize care based on acuity
- Assist and scrub for C-sections and other OB/GYN procedures when needed
- Titrate drips (pitocin, magnesium, occasional insulin) safely and according to policy
- Document accurately in EPIC and communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with OB, Neonatology, anesthesia and unit leadership to ensure excellent outcomes
- Float to support adjacent units (NICU, Pediatrics, Med-Surg, ICU/ED) as needed and provide one-to-one care when assigned
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for North Dakota
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery / LDRP nursing experience
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required (AWHONN Advanced preferred); STABLE preferred
- Comfortable scrubbing for C-sections and assisting in the OR
- Ability to titrate drips and manage common OB medications
- Experience charting in EPIC and familiarity with GE/Corometrics EFM systems
- Comfort with rotating 12-hour shifts and every-third-weekend scheduling
- Willingness to float to NICU/Peds/Med-Surg/ICU/ED as requested
Education
- Associate degree or diploma in nursing (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and intermittent/continuous strip reading
- Proficient in obstetric triage and maternal/newborn assessment
- Skilled in perioperative assistance and sterile scrub technique for C-sections
- Competent with EPIC documentation and unit workflows
- Medication management including pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips and hemorrhage protocols
- Critical thinking, rapid assessment and team communication in high-acuity situations
- Ability to place telemetry/EFM patches correctly and collaborate with monitor techs
