Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule published 6 weeks out, every-other-weekend commitment, included in holiday rotation, standby/on-call while on shift as needed (NOC)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality ICU and stepdown nursing care across float-pool assignments, including ICU, MedSurg Telemetry and PCU
- Interpret cardiac telemetry strips and act quickly on dysrhythmias to keep patients stable
- Titrate and manage critical drips such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine and insulin
- Assess and care for post-procedural cardiac patients (post cardiac cath, CABG post-op) with attention to groin sites and hemodynamic status
- Collaborate with monitor techs, RTs and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate safe patient care and transfers between campuses
- Respond to float assignments across campuses, adapting to unit-specific workflows while maintaining patient safety
- Participate in charge/shift handoffs and follow staffing office notifications for daily assignments
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- BLS and ACLS required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience; at least 1 year of ICU experience preferred/required for float-pool critical care assignments
- Comfort and demonstrated competency titrating common drips (heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin)
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and pass dysrhythmia exam (must score 80% within two attempts prior to signing contract)
- Willingness to float across ICU, MedSurg Telemetry and PCU and to work nights, weekends and holiday rotations
- Must meet Radius Rule: not employed full-time, part-time or PRN with any CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity) facility within the past year and reside outside the 50-mile exclusion as specified
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted
- BSN not required for this assignment
- Successful completion of required facility orientation (8 hour general hospital orientation plus unit-specific 12-hour shifts)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Critical care nursing principles and ICU protocols
- Experience with drip titration and vasoactive medication management
- Post-op cardiac care (post-cath, CABG) and groin site management
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting system
- Competence with respiratory support devices: CPAP, BiPAP and heated high-flow
- Strong assessment, communication and team collaboration skills
- Flexibility to adapt to float-pool assignments and multiple unit workflows
