Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and provide high-quality care for critically ill adults and adolescents (>15 years)
• Interpret telemetry and monitor hemodynamics using Draeger centralized telemetry
• Titrate vasoactive drips and other titratable medications safely and per protocol
• Troubleshoot ventilators and assist with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to vents
• Participate actively in Codes and Rapid Response Teams, serving as a core team member
• Collaborate with physicians, fellows, residents, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Float to other inpatient units as needed to support patient care and unit flow

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for submission in Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of critical care or acute care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
• Driver's license required at time of submission; candidates must meet 50 mile radius rule
• Ability to pass a skills-based open-book orientation exam with a 90% score
• Comfort with 12-hour shift model and every-other weekend/holiday staffing
• Willingness to float to other inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (posting indicates BSN required: ---)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and acute/ICU patient management
• Telemetry interpretation and centralized monitoring familiarity
• Vasoactive drip titration and familiarity with common ICU infusions
• Ventilator troubleshooting from basic to more complex situations
• Experience with EPIC charting and clinical documentation best practices
• Exposure or willingness to train on CRRT, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, Swan-Ganz, and ICP monitoring
• Comfort working in a fast paced tertiary care setting with variable volume
