Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM; Night: 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM). Schedule includes self-scheduling for core staff with travelers added in, every-other-weekend requirement and a minimum of 2 holidays during the contract.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, maintaining 1:2-3 nurse:patient ratios
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation safely and according to protocol
• Interpret and document telemetry strips and monitor trends on GE monitors
• Troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment up to ventilator troubleshooting level
• Perform stroke assessments using NIHSS and participate in stroke management workflows
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for trauma, cardiac, sepsis, vascular, renal, and respiratory cases
• Deliver timely patient and family education and clear, accurate documentation
• Adhere to facility policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy) and pass required orientation assessments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Valid driver’s license at time of submittal (used to confirm radius eligibility)
• Demonstrated ICU/critical care experience with telemetry and titration of drips
• Comfortable with ventilator troubleshooting and monitoring equipment (GE monitors)
• Ability to pass an open-book orientation skills exam with a required score of 90%
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, every-other-weekend, and at least two holidays during the contract

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and advanced patient assessment
• Medication titration and drip management for cardiac, insulin, and sedation infusions
• Telemetry interpretation and documentation
• Proficiency with GE monitoring systems
• Ventilator and respiratory equipment troubleshooting (CPAP/BiPAP/high flow support to vent)
• Trauma, stroke, sepsis, cardiac post-stent/pacemaker, renal failure, and heart failure care
• Ability to float to PCU/MedSurg with appropriate patient ratios
