Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to ICU patients, including respiratory failure, sepsis and cardiac patients
• Titrate vasoactive and other drips safely and according to unit protocols
• Manage ventilators and troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and arterial/CVP lines to guide patient care
• Respond quickly and effectively to acute changes in patient condition and coordinate with the ER when needed
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clear handoffs to the care team
• Coach and mentor teammates, contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Participate in unit duties such as float assignments and weekend/holiday coverage when required

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (ND licensure or multi-state as applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• TNCC or TCAR, or prior experience caring for trauma patients
• Ability and willingness to pass required fit testing (3M Aura 1860/1870+ or Portacount where applicable); facial hair must be removable for fit testing compliance
• Comfort with Meditech charting and interpreting telemetry strips
• Strong teamwork, coachability and motivation to work in a small ICU environment

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU best practices
• Ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Titration of drips and vasoactive medication knowledge
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Trauma patient care fundamentals
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic charting
• Strong communication, situational awareness and bedside leadership
