Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (day) and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (night); every other weekend required; holiday rotation (typically one major and one minor); self-scheduling with possible floating to IMCU/Observation
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $73 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care for ICU and CCU patients, including post-op neuro and cardiac cases
- Manage mechanical ventilators and coordinate respiratory care with RT
- Administer and titrate vasoactive and sedative infusions safely (vaso, levophed, norepinephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, propofol, fentanyl, etc.)
- Interpret telemetry and monitor strips independently and respond to arrhythmias and acute changes
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists and the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute patient-focused plans
- Float to IMCU/Observation as needed and provide consistent, competent care across units
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned and work alongside nurse aides and available resources
- Document thoroughly in Cerner and participate in unit orientation and handoffs
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the United States (California license preferred or eligible)
- Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience required (travel experience preferred)
- Current ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS required; PALS highly preferred
- Proven experience with ventilator management and vasoactive medication administration
- Comfortable with telemetry/monitor strip interpretation (Phillips systems)
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and holiday rotation
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing accepted; BSN preferred; active RN license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing fundamentals and complex patient assessment
- Ventilator management and airway support
- Vasoactive infusion and drip titration
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Post-op neuro and cardiac ICU care (craniotomies, ICP monitoring, post caths, impella/balloon pump experience)
- Infusion/IV drip management and central line familiarity
- Familiarity with Cerner charting and acute care documentation
- Ability to function independently with limited monitor tech support
