Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing across ICU, MedSurg Tele and PCU units, making an immediate impact on patient outcomes
• Interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias accurately to guide timely interventions
• Administer and titrate infusions such as heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine and insulin safely
• Deliver post-procedural and post-CABG care, including groin site management and close hemodynamic monitoring
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate patient status clearly during floats between campuses
• Respond to standby calls and provide rapid, competent care when called in
• Document care thoroughly in Cerner and participate in unit-specific orientation to get up to speed quickly
• Mentor and work with nurse aides and monitor techs to ensure excellent patient surveillance

Qualifications

• Active RN license for the state of Arizona
• BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (unit requires at least 1 year ICU experience)
• Comfortable with telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition (must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% within two attempts prior to contract)
• Proven experience with drip titration and managing common critical care infusions
• Able to float between ICU, MedSurg Tele and PCU across campuses and work a flexible night schedule
• Must meet radius and affiliation rules (no full-time/part-time/PRN at CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities within the past year)

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• ADN or BSN accepted; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac monitoring
• IV drip titration and critical care medication management
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
• Post-procedural and cardiac cath care, including CABG post-op management
• Strong assessment skills for geriatric and ortho patients
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced float pool and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
