Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM; Night: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM), schedule includes every-other-weekend and holiday rotation; typically 3 shifts/week (36 hours guaranteed), ability to float to Tele and ED ICU/Tele holds

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to ICU patients, managing complex neuro and cardiac cases
- Manage ventilators and respiratory support in collaboration with RT 24/7
- Administer and titrate vasopressors, sedation, antiarrhythmics and infusion drips safely
- Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry/ECG strips and act on changes
- Serve as charge nurse and resource RN when scheduled, coordinating care and assignments
- Perform thorough bedside report and huddle report to ensure safe handoffs
- Precept and mentor new hires during floor-specific orientation and ongoing education
- Float to Tele and ED ICU/Tele holds as needed while maintaining quality care
- Document care accurately in Cerner EMR and collaborate with pharmacy and hospitalists/intensivists
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for practice in California
- Minimum 2 years of acute care/ICU nursing experience; 3 years preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience with ventilator and vasopressor/infusion management
- Proven ability to read and interpret ECG/telemetry strips
- Comfortable functioning as charge nurse/resource RN and preceptor experience is a plus
- Willingness to work every-other-weekend and rotate through holidays
- Adherence to facility policies such as no acrylic nails or gel polish during assignment
Education
- Active RN license (California). BSN not required but welcomed; ADN or BSN accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong Cerner EMR charting skills
- Advanced critical care knowledge for neuro and cardiac/PCI patient populations
- Ventilator management and respiratory support collaboration with RT
- Vasopressor and infusion drip titration and safety
- Telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation
- Sepsis recognition and management
- Experience with TBI, Camino ICP monitoring and higher-level neuro care
- Effective communication for bedside reporting, huddles, and charge duties
