Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, guaranteed 36 hours/week; Night weekends Fri-Sat with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; self-scheduling with manager balancing (expected to float between sister ICUs as needed)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity critical care to adult ICU patients in trauma, neuro, and cardiovascular settings
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support, and collaborate with RT 24/7
- Titrate vasoactive and sedative drips safely and according to protocol
- Interpret telemetry/ECG strips independently and respond to dysrhythmias
- Respond quickly and effectively to trauma activations and emergency situations
- Document thoroughly in Cerner and communicate patient changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Float between ICUs as needed and support unit staffing and patient flow
- Complete unit orientation, pass the Day 1 simulation lab, and validate device-specific skills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of practice (Arizona licensure or compact accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience required (experience must include EITHER neuro or cardiovascular care)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications; NIHSS certification required
- UNA Dysrhythmia exam required 24–48 hours prior to acceptance (maximum 2 attempts)
- Comfortable titrating drips and managing advanced cardiac and neuro patients
- Able to pass a simulation lab on Day 1 of orientation
- Willingness to float to tele and sister ICUs; first-time travelers are welcome if they meet experience requirements
- Must meet radius rule: no FT/PT/PRN employment with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities within the past year
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required (noted as '---' in job data); relevant critical care training and certifications required
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management (Draeger, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett 840 experience helpful)
- Drip titration for sedatives, analgesics and vasoactives
- Telemetry and ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
- Care of trauma, neuro-surgery, CVICU and post-op cardiac patients
- Familiarity with ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Impella, TandemHeart and TAVR (preferred)
- Experience with Cerner charting and GE monitors
- Strong critical thinking, triage, and rapid assessment skills
- Effective interdisciplinary communication with intensivists, hospitalists, RTs and support staff
