Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (06:30 AM - 06:30 PM and 06:30 PM - 06:30 AM), schedule rotates across all days of the week, every-other weekend required; minimum of 2 holidays during the 13-week contract
Hours per Week: 48

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and respiratory distress cases
- Assess patients continuously and intervene quickly — titrate cardiac, insulin, sedation and other drips per protocol
- Interpret and document telemetry and monitor strips accurately using GE monitors and collaborate with tele tech oversight
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula up to vents and coordinate care with Respiratory Therapy
- Chart thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain a clear, legal patient record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support staff to deliver safe, patient-centered care
- Float to PCU/MedSurg as needed while maintaining appropriate patient ratios and standards of care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for Nebraska submission
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical care experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
- Comfortable titrating drips (cardiac, insulin, sedation) and managing complex hemodynamics
- Experience reading/interpreting telemetry/monitor strips (GE monitor experience a plus)
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal per radius rule
- Able to pass an orientation open-book skills exam (90% required) and comply with facility policies (e.g., fingernail/artificial nail restrictions)
- Willingness to work every-other-weekend and at least two holidays that fall within the contract
Education
- Active RN license (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
- Strong telemetry/monitor interpretation and rhythm recognition skills
- Solid drip titration knowledge for cardiac, insulin and sedation drips
- Experience with adult critical care: trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis management
- Ability to troubleshoot basic ventilator/respiratory issues and escalate appropriately
- Familiarity with GE monitor systems and working with tele tech oversight
- Excellent critical thinking, prioritization, and team communication skills
