Shift Type: Nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, 12-hour night shifts; Every other weekend (Friday-Sunday) and holiday coverage expected; may float to Telemetry and ER as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and manage critically ill ICU patients with sound clinical judgment
- Operate and manage mechanical ventilation and assist with ventilator changes
- Administer and titrate medication drips such as vasopressors, nitro, and heparin safely
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, responding promptly to arrhythmias and alarms
- Collaborate with RT, pharmacy, physicians (in-house intensivists), and unit techs to coordinate care
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart
- Float to Telemetry and ER for ICU holds and provide consistent continuity of care
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on patient satisfaction
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to work in California)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (unit preference: 3 years; 2+ years considered from large institutions)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
- CCRN certification preferred
- Proven experience with mechanical ventilation and vasopressor/drip management
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and occasional holiday coverage
- Prior travel nurse experience preferred but not required
Education
- Active RN license required
- ADN/Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing accepted (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and patient management
- Mechanical ventilation and ventilator troubleshooting
- Vasopressor and continuous medication drip titration
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Experience with Cerner PowerChart for charting and documentation
- Familiarity with cath lab recovery, balloon pumps, and post-op cardiac care
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
- Ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
