Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM NOC; Every-other-weekend coverage (Fri, Sat, Sun EOW); holidays scheduled with permanent staff; first-to-float to Tele/ER as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients with conditions such as cardiac, sepsis, stroke, post-op CABG/PCI and more
- Manage mechanical ventilation and perform ventilator adjustments in collaboration with RT and intensivists
- Safely administer and titrate vasoactive drips and other continuous infusions
- Continuously monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac and hemodynamic changes
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including in-house intensivists (Sound Physicians), RT, and pharmacy to optimize patient outcomes
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned (note: charge nurses do not carry patient assignments)
- Support patient satisfaction efforts by delivering empathetic, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active RN license required (able to submit license to agency)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required prior to start
- CCRN strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required; 3 years preferred unless coming from a large institution (2+ years acceptable)
- Experience with ventilator management, vasoactive drip management, telemetry and mechanical ventilation
- Prior travel nurse experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart charting
- Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in high-acuity settings
- Comfort managing vasopressors, nitro, heparin and other drips
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
- Compassionate bedside manner and commitment to patient satisfaction
