Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; includes weekends (typically 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks) and holiday coverage as scheduled; may be placed on standby and required to float between ICU and Telemetry units
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage complex neuro critical care patients, including ICP monitoring and EVD management
- Provide ventilator management and advanced cardiorespiratory support in collaboration with RT
- Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and act quickly on changes in neurologic status
- Maintain strict sterile technique for central line dressing changes and Foley insertions
- Document accurately and timely in Cerner EMR and communicate patient status during handoffs
- Support unit operations by floating to telemetry or other ICU floors as needed
- Participate in SIMs Lab and unit orientation to demonstrate and maintain core competencies
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care
Qualifications
- Active RN license (or eligible for Arizona licensure) required
- BLS and ACLS required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a large hospital (450+ beds) required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- EVD (external ventricular drain) experience and strong ICP monitoring skills required
- Experience with ventilator management and telemetry monitoring (Phillips monitors preferred)
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 3-6 months travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to pass required clinical exams (DYS exam) and SIMs Lab skills; meet facility appearance and fit-test requirements
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle required for travel team members
Education
- Active RN license (required)

- Neuro assessment and recognition of subtle neurologic changes
- ICP monitoring and management best practices
- Ventilator management and collaboration with respiratory therapy
- EVD care and troubleshooting
- Telemetry interpretation and use of Phillips monitors
- Central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion competence
- Sterile technique and infection prevention
- Experience documenting in Cerner EMR and effective interdisciplinary communication
- Ability to safely lift/transfer patients and use restraints according to policy
