Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts. Day shift (primary): 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; nights are part of the rotation as assigned (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Schedule includes every-other-weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday for days), holiday rotation, and occasional standby/float shifts.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for MCU patients across ICU, PCU, and MST acuities
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias; complete required dysrhythmia competency
- Administer and titrate infusions (vasopressors, sedation, insulin) safely and per protocol
- Manage ventilators and support noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) in collaboration with respiratory therapy
- Perform 12-lead EKGs and bedside cardiac monitoring for acute patients
- Deliver comprehensive primary care when nursing assistants are not available and maintain accurate Cerner documentation
- Collaborate with charge RN, interdisciplinary teams, and remote monitoring techs to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to designated units (ED/MST/Peds/West Campus) as needed to maintain competency and staffing coverage
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (or 1 year ICU + 1 year PCU/MedSurg in larger facilities with strong skills)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Proven ability to titrate drips and manage critical care infusions (vasopressors, sedation, insulin)
- Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, and working with respiratory therapy
- Familiarity with telemetry, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Must pass the dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
- Must meet facility radius and affiliation rules: candidates may not have been FT/PT/PRN with CommonSpirit (including CHI/Dignity) within the past 12 months and must comply with the 50-mile radius rule
Education
- Active RN license in state of practice
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care assessment and prioritization for high-acuity patients
- EKG rhythm interpretation and 12-lead acquisition
- Infusion/drip titration and pump management
- Ventilator management and basic ventilator troubleshooting
- Telemetry monitoring and remote monitor integration
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system
- Ability to function as primary RN on smaller teams and support charge duties
- Comfort floating between MCU, PCU, MST and pediatric/adult assignments as needed
