Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; Day 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and Night 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM; schedule varies across the week with every-other-weekend requirement and minimum two holidays during the 13-week contract (rotating day/night coverage)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill adult patients in a 33-bed ICU, providing high-quality, compassionate care
• Continuously monitor cardiac and physiologic status using GE telemetry and intervene as needed
• Titrate IV drips (cardiac drips, insulin, sedation) safely and per protocol to optimize patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress thoroughly in EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and nursing aides to coordinate care — especially for trauma, cardiac and stroke patients
• Respond rapidly to emergencies (code situations, rapid response) and stabilize patients while directing the team
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning input to support transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Nebraska (License to submit required)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing complex cardiac and respiratory cases
• Experience with EPIC charting and telemetry monitoring (GE monitors preferred)
• Valid driver’s license required at submittal (radius rule applies)

Education

• Active RN license (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care monitoring and assessment skills
• Telemetry interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
• IV drip titration and cardiac medication management
• Familiarity troubleshooting vents and high-flow oxygen setups (RNs troubleshoot to ventilator level as needed)
• Proficient with EPIC electronic charting and documentation
• Trauma, stroke and cardiac critical care knowledge
• Team collaboration with nursing aides, RTs and physicians
